11 times do I have to press X or Start before I'm in my merc quarters. ELEVEN times! That of course includes the initial one to start the game.
This is really excessive, especially as I have to restart my game as often as I have to. I literally spend about half my time loading the game. |

The first is completely unnecessary, it informs us about the character reset. No need to show it every time 2 is only partially needed, the game does not HAVE an offline component, ergo the act of starting the game is in itself acknowledging that you are going online. 3, 4 and 5 could be one, if that, namely the NDA reminder. After the first launch we HAVE seen the EULA and patch notes. And why not show them at teh beginning if we HAVE to see them, that way we do have time to make a pot of coffee, and perhaps even drink half of it before getting to the trailer video. It can be bypassed by pressing start, that is one of the 10 I count. Which is NOT needed there upon EVERY launch. Then the "press start to ... start". Why? Why not just provide the copyright info on the Character select? Then the only really needed one, Character selection. But why do we have to press X twice for that? One to select then once more to select again. Use X to select, and triangle to provide extra options, such as delete. Then the mandatory "redeem" screen. Again, it adds time, and another press on X. If we want to redeem items, let us do it as we do in EVE. From in game, and/or as one of the options on the proposed triangle context menu. |

It is a serious problem, when you have to do it after every game. Two if I'm lucky. |

It is a serious problem, when you have to do it after every game. Two if I'm lucky. Your definition of a serious problem is skewed. Being on fire is a serious problem, having to press x 6 times to play the game, is not serious.
When you spend as much time loading the game, as you do actually playing it, it is serious.
I just removed DUST completely, including the save data, restored the system with both options 3 and 4 in the Safe mode menu, then reinstalled the game.
The problems remain. |
